Diversity, equity and inclusion

At PGPI, we believe that being a genuinely fit-for-the-future organization means we need a diverse and inclusive workforce.

We want every employee to be proud to work at PGPI, knowing that their voices are heard and can have a positive impact. We value cross-cultural working and collaboration and believe our diversity makes us a stronger company which attracts the best talent.

Recruitment processes

Unconscious bias training in our HR and management team helps to maintain our high standards of recruiting practices. We actively monitor the diversity of our workforce to understand patterns and challenge ourselves to ensure our roles are always accessible to a diverse pool of candidates. This includes being a multi-lingual company as many of our people are bi-lingual or speak English as a second language.

Inclusivity

Our people celebrate various holidays and events depending on their religion, ethnicity and background. We align with their needs when it comes to time off for recognized celebrations and holidays.

Leadership training

Our site works to develop exceptional leaders who have the tools and techniques to empower their teams. We use various management programs that give us the flexibility to provide what individuals need for their development. As a business, we share learnings and best practices. We discuss leadership challenges with colleagues from the Associated British Foods plc (ABF) group of businesses to foster intercultural awareness and facilitate better networks.

Personal growth

PGPI is a place where we encourage everyone to be who they are and reach their potential. We provide opportunities for people to develop their careers across the whole ABF group, allowing them to benefit from working for a large, multi-national company.

Women at PGPI

Our senior leadership team is 33% female, including our CEO Angelica Horst. Angelica has appeared as a guest speaker at Women in ABF, an initiative led by our parent company, Associated British Foods plc, to support more than 900 colleagues in managerial and professional roles across the wider ABF workforce.

Supporting minority businesses

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals ask for inclusive infrastructure development. We work with local businesses run by minority leaders, knowing that our choices support an inclusive local economy and play a part in addressing imbalances in our communities. For example, we work with Travel Leaders 365, an organization where 90% of its management team identifies as either minority, female, or both.
